Lovejoy Police And Citizens Together (L.P.A.C.T.)
LPACT2.jpg
In November of 2017, a partnership was formed between the Lovejoy Police Department (LPD) and a group of civic-minded citizens, resulting in the formation of Lovejoy Police And Citizens Together (L.P.A.C.T.).

L-PACT's mission is to establish good relations and interaction between the Lovejoy community and officers at LPD.

L-PACT functions as a Neighborhood Watch, where residents and the LPD work together for the prevention and detection of criminal activity within their neighborhood.

A PACT officer is assigned to each residential neighborhood or homeowner's association (HOA). The officer acts as a liaison and develops a relationship with the neighborhood, meeting on a regular basis to discuss concerns residents may have, and sharing safety information.

We want you to be engaged! Fill out the HOA/Neighborhood Information to tell us about your association and stay up to date with the latest information and services for homeowner/neighborhood associations in the City of Lovejoy.

For further information regarding L-PACT, please contact Chief Wayne Woods at .

Shop With A Cop
Every year in December, the Lovejoy Police Department's Annual "Shop With A Cop" program provides students whose families are having financial issues during the holidays. Each year, twenty students from the age range of 6 to 12 years old, who are residents of Lovejoy, GA, are selected for this program. The student and their parents are invited to Lovejoy City Hall for a meet and greet over lunch as the Officers discuss the program. Also during this meet and greet, the children are provided with Police Department giveaway bags. Students who are chosen to participate receive a $100.00 Wal-Mart gift card. Police officers ride over to Walmart in the van with the children to engage in positive interaction and discussion. There, with the help of their parents and Police Officer escorts, the students shop for themselves.

Children who are selected to participate in a shopping trip is based on the following criteria:
1) financial need,
2) staying in school,
3) avoiding fighting & bullying,
4) avoiding a gang or criminal lifestyle.

The “Shop With A Cop” program reinforces the ideas of sharing and giving and promotes the idea that role models of all ages are crucial to the development of our youth. The positive one-on-one experience each student will get from “Shop With A Cop” is one that is never forgotten.
